Team Doyle: Annette,
Student Aiden, Sr Angela Mary Doyle
The annual Sports Day at QCHS (South Brisbane campuses) is always a wonderful day
that highlights our strong school spirit, giving students the opportunity to
participate in a range of team and
individual sporting events, and support their fellow students through their
cheers and war cries. The energy of friendly competition and encouragement
motivates and inspires students to achieve their best for their School House
(Doyle or Pearn).
Activities on the day include ball games,
modified field events (such as all abilities shot put, discus and javelin), and
races (ranging from sprints and hurdles to the classic egg-and-spoon and sack
races!).
The winning house on the day is presented a trophy by
our school patrons Professor John Pearn and Sister Angela Mary Doyle, and identified students are
bestowed with 'Inspire,' 'Believe' and 'Achieve' medals.
The invaluable presence and support of our partners,
who include the Children's Hospital Foundation and Juiced TV, reinforces the strong
sense of community felt at the event each year.
